State Court of Appeals to Hear Two Same-Sex Marriage Cases

"The state's highest court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments in two cases that challenge New York's recognition of same-sex-marriages legally performed elsewhere.

Michigan court recognizes lesbian adoption from Ill.

"Courts can oversee a custody dispute between lesbian parents who adopted in Illinois even though Michigan doesn't formally recognize gay relationships, the state Court of Appeals said in a decision released Friday.

Federal lawsuit claims Agnesian doctor denied surgery to woman with AIDS

"Lambda Legal and the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin filed a lawsuit today in federal court against Agnesian HealthCare claiming one of its physicians refused to treat a patient with HIV.


"The suit is on behalf of Melody Rose, a 35-year-old female inmate at Taycheedah Correctional Institution who was denied surgery to remove her gallbladder because she has HIV, according to a press release from the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin.
