Justice for Sale

In collaboration with Lambda Legal and Demos, this special report on the courts appeared in the October 2011 issue of The American Prospect magazine. The report, entitled "Justice for Sale", examines the current threat to a fair and impartial American court system. A frightening example of bullying the bench took place in Iowa after Lambda Legal won a unanimous state Supreme Court ruling in favor of the freedom to marry, and extremist conservative groups ousted three justices by labeling them “activist.” The special report reveals the players and motives behind that attack against the court and others.
