"Gay leaders offered only a lukewarm reception Wednesday night for President Obama's statement, in his State of the Union address, that he would work for the repeal of the military’s discriminatory policy against gays.

While Cathcart said Lambda was happy to hear President Obama's remark, he added that 'the time has finally come to fulfill that promise.'"

(New York, January 27, 2010) — In response to President Obama's remarks expressing his intention to end the military's discriminatory policy on gay service members known as "Don't Ask Don't Tell" (DADT), Lambda Legal released the following statement from Kevin Cathcart, Executive Director:

(New York, January 27, 2010) - Today, upon the introduction of the Student Non-Discrimination Act in the U.S. House of Representatives Lambda Legal released the following statement by Hayley Gorenberg, Deputy Legal Director of Lambda Legal:

The Student Non-Discrimination Act takes a big step toward a safer and healthier environment in every public school.
