Lambda Legal Mourns Passing of Carmen Vázquez, LGBTQ Movement Hero/ Lambda Legal Lamenta el Fallecimiento de Carmen Vázquez, heroína del movimiento LGBTQ

Lifelong LGBTQ and social justice activist Carmen Vázquez passed away yesterday from complications due to Covid-19. Lambda Legal CEO Kevin Jennings issued the following statement:

“Carmen Vázquez embodied the word 'fierce.'  In the twenty-plus years I was privileged to have her as a colleague and a friend, I grew to profoundly admire and completely trust her unerring moral compass and her uncompromising commitment to justice. The LGBTQ movement and the world at large are a smaller and diminished place today without her vibrant presence.”

La activista puertorriqueña y LGBTQ por la justicia social Carmen Vázquez, falleció ayer por complicaciones a causa del Covid-19. El director ejecutivo de Lambda Legal, Kevin Jennings, emitió la siguiente declaración:
