Illinois Marriage Bill Advances, Faces Final Hurdle

We are so close to having the freedom to marry in Illinois. The Illinois House Executive Committee voted 6-5 in favor of SB10, the bill that would provide marriage for same-sex couples in Illinois. The bill now advances to the House floor for a vote. Gov. Pat Quinn has already said he'll sign the bill into law, so this vote is the last hurdle.

The day when loving, committed same-sex couples in Illinois can marry is within our grasp. Illinois is poised to become the 10th state where same-sex couples have the freedom to marry, and we need people across the state to call their Representatives and urge them to vote "Yes." The time to act is now
