WHAT: Opening of South Central Regional Office in Dallas, Texas for Lambda Legal (Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund)
WHY: A regional office covering the entire south central area of the United States will enable Lambda Legal to expand on decades of anti-discrimination work on behalf of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgendered people, and people with HIV or AIDS living in the region. The location in Dallas will allow Lambda Legal to move and act quickly in each of the eight states: Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
WHO: Speakers at the ceremony to celebrate opening the office will include:
- Kevin M. Cathcart, executive director of Lambda Legal
- John Loza, city council member, deputy mayor pro tem of Dallas, Texas
- Barbara Nunneley, attorney and co-chair of local committee for Lambda Legal
- Lee Taft, regional director of Lambda Legal South Central Regional Office
