A. Cornelius Baker to Speak at Bon Foster Memorial Lecture and Luncheon

(CHICAGO, October 17, 2000) — With a national authority on HIV and AIDS policy as keynote speaker at its Bon Foster Memorial Civil Rights Lecture, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund will focus attention on the state of AIDS prevention and discrimination protections at a critical time in public policy debate.


On Friday, October 20, A. Cornelius Baker, executive director of the Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C., will deliver Lambda’s Bon Foster Memorial Civil Rights Lecture to a packed crowd at the Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago.

Lambda Staff Attorney Cited for Advancing Rights of People with HIV/AIDS

Washington's Highest Court to Hear Case of Man Facing Loss of Home

(LOS ANGELES, October 12, 2000) — The Washington Supreme Court has agreed to hear the appeal of a man seeking to retain his home and business following the death of his partner of nearly 30 years, said Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund Thursday.


“This is an important case for lesbian and gay families, who deserve the same protections available to other couples when one partner dies without a legal will,” said Jennifer C. Pizer, managing attorney for Lambda’s Western Regional Office.

Students and Salt Lake City School Board End Feud over Gay-Supportive Clubs

(NEW YORK, October 6, 2000) – Reversing the most extreme steps taken anywhere in the country against gay-supportive student clubs, the Salt Lake City School Board has decided to change its policy and allow the clubs to meet at schools in the Salt Lake City School District.
