At the same time, Lambda emphasized that the clock cannot be turned back on the gay civil rights struggle.
(NEW YORK, November 4, 1998) — Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund on Wednesday said it is disappointed but not defeated by Hawaii voters' approval of an unprecedented constitutional amendment aimed at blocking lesbian and gay couples from civil marriage. A similar measure was also approved in Alaska.
