(New York, April 24, 2007) — Today, Lambda Legal's Executive Director, Kevin Cathcart, submitted an open letter to Congress supporting the introduction of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) highlighting evidence from Lambda Legal's 34 years of work on behalf of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and those with HIV. (Columbia, SC, December 16, 2004) —Today, Lambda Legal announced an agreement with Foot Locker, settling its antigay discrimination lawsuit against the company. Under the agreement, Foot Locker will train its managers and employees more aggressively about antigay harassment, including emphasizing to its employees access to support and services to handle such harassment and provide an undisclosed monetary settlement to Lambda Legal’s client.
(New York, September 14, 2004) – Lambda Legal said today that it will protest against Foot Locker outside WNBA games in several cities – including a game in New York on Thursday night – because the company discriminated against a gay employee. Foot Locker is strengthening its ties with the women’s basketball league.
(Columbia, South Carolina, Tuesday, June 29, 2004) - Lambda Legal filed a lawsuit against Foot Locker, Inc., today in state court in Columbia on behalf of a former employee who was subjected to severe antigay harassment by coworkers and supervisors, at two different store locations and in front of customers, and ultimately fired.
