(Madison, Wisconsin)—Yesterday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court denied a request by the Court of Appeals asking the high court to decide the lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the statewide domestic partnership registry that provides important legal protections for same-sex couples.
"A Dane County judge ruled Monday that the state’s Domestic Partner Registry does not violate the state Constitution.
"In a 53-page decision, Circuit Court Judge Daniel Moeser said the registry, which went into effect Aug. 1, 2009, does not violate the Marriage Amendment to the state’s Constitution passed in 2006.
