The U.S. Senate has confirmed Neomi Rao, President Trump’s nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
The American people deserve better than Neomi Rao. Her divisiveness and hostility to sexual assault survivors, racial minorities, and LGBT people are the foundation of her legal career and will no doubt be carried into her future as a federal judge.
Ms. Rao’s record should have caused concern to anyone who cares about the credibility of the federal judiciary, regardless of their political party.
Yet once again, Senate Republicans appear to be more worried about facing the ire of Donald Trump’s twitter account than standing up for the interests of the people who sent them to Washington in the first place.
