Yesterday, a U.S. District Court refused to halt Florida’s enacted House Bill 1557, commonly referred to as the “Don’t Say Gay or Trans” law, and dismissed the case altogether, but is allowing the plaintiffs an opportunity to file an amended complaint by November 3.
Today, Lambda Legal announced that Jennifer C. Pizer has been named permanent Chief Legal Officer (CLO). Pizer has served as the organization’s acting CLO since June, leading a department of twenty-six attorneys and eleven paraprofessionals with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
