Lambda Legal Commends Virginia Gov. Northam for Signing Comprehensive Nondiscrimination Bill

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam late yesterday signed into law the Virginia Values Act, historic legislation that bans anti-LGBTQ discrimination in employment, housing and public spaces. The bill was passed with strong, bipartisan support by both houses of the Virginia General Assembly.

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court denied review of decisions in favor of the freedom to marry from the Seventh Circuit, Fourth Circuit and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal. As a result same-sex couples in those five more states -- Indiana, Wisconsin, Virginia, Utah and Oklahoma -- began to marry!
