On this, the 15th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor those we have lost to anti-transgender hatred and violence, including Islan Nettles, who was beaten to death last August while she was simply walking down the street.

Lambda Legal today filed a friend-of-the-court brief with the New York Court of Appeals urging the court to reinstate the 2009 conviction of Dwight DeLee, who was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter as a hate crime in the 2008 shooting death in Syracuse of Lateisha Green, a transgender woman.

Today Lambda Legal announced a landmark settlement for Cori McCreery, a transgender woman in South Dakota who was terminated from her job after she informed her employer that she would be taking steps to transition from male to female at work.
