Q: I’m a transgender woman and sometimes when I’m out with friends, a police officer stops to harass me on the sidewalk, assuming I’m a prostitute. What should I do?

In response to Lambda Legal's lawsuit, the state has agreed to remove gender identity exclusion for employees on the state health plan.

Lambda Legal and other legal, medical and social services providers in a letter point to the agency's "lack of a uniform and appropriate method of processing recipients' requests" to change the gender listed in official records and benefit cards.

Lambda Legal recently joined five other LGBT advocacy organizations in urging a Senate panel to stop the discriminatory placement of transgender inmates and immigrant detainees in solitary confinement.
