(Phoenix, April 29, 2013) – Lambda Legal today issued a legal analysis documenting the ability of Bisbee and other Arizona municipalities to enact ordinances recognizing and protecting the committed family relationships of adult couples regardless of marital status, gender or sexual orientation.

Today, the Rhode Island Senate voted to end the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage in Rhode Island.

The bipartisan introduction of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) today reflects the strong national consensus that workers should be evaluated on their merits, not sexual orientation or gender identity.

For the past two years, Lambda Legal has filed lawsuits on behalf of students who were denied the right to participate in GLSEN’s Day of Silence, the annual anti-bullying observance in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students at their schools. (New York, April 17, 2013) - Today, the Senate introduced a comprehensive immigration reform bill that included many important provisions but did not include critically important protections for same-sex binational couples and their families. (Honolulu, HI, April 15, 2013) – The First Circuit Court of Hawai‘i today issued a ruling in favor of a lesbian couple who filed a discrimination lawsuit against Aloha Bed & Breakfast after the business turned them away because of their sexual orientation. (Los Angeles, April 11, 2013) – Lambda Legal and the HIV Law Project today submitted a friend-of-the-court brief asking the Bureau of Immigration Appeals (BIA) to overturn an Immigration Judge’s ruling ordering the deportation of an HIV-positive immigrant convicted of solicitation for oral sex.

(Fort Myers, FL Wednesday, April 10, 2013) – After Lambda Legal requested a preliminary injunction to prevent DeSoto County School District from interfering with students’ participation in GLSEN’s Day of Silence this year, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled that because the school district promised it would not interfere with Amber and other students rights to participate in the annual anti-bullying observance in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students on April 19, 2013,  an injunction was not necessary.
