Lambda Legal Welcomes Judith Pfenninger: New Chief Financial Officer

(New York, January 26, 2010) - Today, Lambda Legal announces that Judith Pfenninger joins the staff as its Chief Financial Officer. As the CFO, Pfenninger is responsible for all aspects of Lambda Legal’s accounting, treasury and budgeting functions, and supervises all finance and database management staff.

U.S. Court of Appeals Hears Arguments in Lambda Legal's Case Seeking Birth Certificate for Child Adopted by Two Fathers

(New Orleans, October 7, 2009) – A three-member panel of federal judges in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals heard today from attorneys on both sides regarding Lambda Legal’s lawsuit against the Louisiana Registrar of Vital Statistics for refusing to respect the New York adoption by a same-sex couple of a Louisiana-born baby boy.

Lions Club Sends Letter of Apology to Oregon Lesbian Couple; Reminds Affiliates of Non-Discrimination Policy

Lambda Legal Applauds Proposed Rules Eliminating HIV Travel Restrictions

(New York, July 1, 2009) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced it will issue proposed new rules that would lift the HIV travel and immigration ban by removing HIV from the list of communicable diseases of public health significance for immigrants to the United States.

Federal Court Says Lambda Legal's Lawsuit on Behalf of Transgender Woman Fired by Georgia General Assembly Can Move Forward

(Atlanta, GA, June 26, 2009) The United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia today denied the Georgia General Assembly's motion to dismiss Lambda Legal's federal lawsuit on behalf of Vandy Beth Glenn, a transgender woman who was fired from her job as Legislative Editor after she told them she planned to transition from male to female.
