(Dallas, March 8, 2007) -- Houston Comets all-star player, Sheryl Swoopes, will speak at Lambda Legal’s 5th Annual Women’s Brunch, hosted by Dallas Attorney Lisa Blue at her Preston Hollow home.

(Chicago, March 8, 2007) — Patricia M. Logue, Director of Constitutional Litigation at Lambda Legal was named an Associate Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County; she will be sworn in April 11th.

“I’m honored to have been selected to join the ranks of Illinois trial judges and to have the opportunity to continue a career of public service, ” said Logue.

It is a great honor to have this opportunity to remember and pay tribute to Mrs. King.

(Sacramento, February 22, 2007) — California State Senator Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) introduced a bill today, SB 559, drafted by Lambda Legal and sponsored by Equality California that would bring property tax relief to surviving domestic partners who inherited real estate from a partner who died before 2006.

(New York, February 21, 2007) — Today, Lambda Legal applauds a decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court, finding that if a school is aware or should be aware of harassment of students based on sexual orientation, it is obligated to act to end the harassment.

(DALLAS, April 18, 2002) - Lambda Legal Thursday said it likely will go to the United States Supreme Court now that the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals refused to hear an appeal by two Houston men convicted of violating the ‘Homosexual Conduct’ Law by having consensual sex in the privacy of one man’s home.

(NEW YORK, Thursday, April 18, 2002) ---Lambda Legal today praised the introduction of a bill that would require the New York State Commissioner of Correctional Services to develop comprehensive STD and HIV prevention programs in all state prisons. Among state correctional facilities, New York’s prisons have the highest rate of HIV in the country.
