(Washington, D.C., July 9, 2020) — Today, Lambda Legal asked a federal district court to prevent the recently published health care discrimination rule from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from going into effect.

(Washington, DC, July 8, 2020) – Today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 7-2 to approve the Trump administration’s expansion of large employers’ ability to largely ignore the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) birth-control insurance rule, which Congress enacted to increase equal treatment of women workers.

(St. Louis, March 7, 2018) —Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit reversed a lower court decision and revived a lawsuit by Mark Horton, a healthcare sales specialist whose job offer at St. Louis-based Midwest Geriatric Management (MGM) was withdrawn when the employer learned Horton is gay.

(Washington, D.C., June 22, 2020) — Today, Lambda Legal and Steptoe & Johnson LLP filed a lawsuit challenging the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently published health care discrimination rule that purports to carve out LGBTQ people and other vulnerable populations from the protections of Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, among other bases.
