Lambda Legal Urges Le Roy Central School District to Retain Safe and Affirming Bathroom Policy

(New York, November 9, 2015) —Lambda Legal sent a letter to the Le Roy Central School District urging the school board to adopt inclusive bathroom policies that are consistent with the District’s current practice of respecting the gender identity of its students and in line with federal and state law.

Houston Voters Reject Equal Rights Ordinance

(Houston, TX, November 3, 2015) – Today, Houston voters went to the polls and rejected the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO), defeating a citywide ordinance that would have prohibited discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation on the basis of race, age, gender, pregnancy, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or military status.

Lambda Legal Sues U.S. State Department on Behalf of Intersex Citizen Denied Passport

(Denver, CO, October 26, 2015) – Lambda Legal today filed a federal discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. State Department on behalf of an intersex client, Dana Zzyym, denied a U.S. passport because Dana could not accurately choose either male or female on the passport application form, and the form does not provide any other gender marker designation.
